I.M.O.D.E® - Integrated Monitoring of Diesel Emissions

IMODE - Integrated Monitoring of Diesel EmissionsThermal-Lube’s I.M.O.D.E (Integrated Monitoring Of Diesel Emissions) is a permanently installed analytical device designed for use with marine, locomotive, and stationary boiler engines. It is designed to analyze diesel engine exhaust gases and combustion byproduct content and particulate levels in applications such as marine and locomotive engines and stationary boilers, and compare them to baseline or pre-set values to determine:

The I.M.O.D.E system can be connected directly to a smokestack, and can be programmed to sample and analyze in batches. Exhaust gas sampling can be done using a manifold (up to five stacks) or “plug and play”. The system will automatically switch between stacks to perform the analyses. It can also be used manually for a single analysis.

The analytical components are housed in a NEMA 4 self-contained, weatherproof, climate-controlled stainless steel case that is mounted in the stack area. The control and operating software is housed in a stand-alone dedicated computer located in the engine control room. The control computer communicates with the system hardware over a standard Ethernet connection.

The analytical devices measures levels of:

The U.M.P.I.R.E_EXL software displays the absolute values of each of the above, calculates efficiency (λ) and fuel/air ratio, and allows users to display the data in graphic form against any data stored in the computer memory, including baseline data or pre-set data. The software comes with a complete self-diagnosis program that alerts the end user to problems or maintenance requirements.
